Samsung announced its new line of monitors this morning at CES. The two most interesting models for Mac users include the company’s first 5K monitor, the ViewFinity S9 with a slim design not unlike Apple’s Studio Monitor but with even more features and a new 27-inch version of the Smart Monitor The M8 is popular.
Samsung says its latest external monitors are designed to provide “unparalleled image quality and a range of innovative features for people who want to work, play and live with their monitor”.
Designed for creative professionals and definitely aiming to compete with Apple’s Studio Studio, the new 27-inch ViewFinity S9 (pictured above) is Samsung’s first 5K monitor.

Smart Monitor M8 27-inch
The Smart Monitor M8 was originally launched as a 32-inch monitor and it is an all-round performer. We’ve featured it in our roundup of the best 4K displays for Mac for a while now.
Now Samsung will launch a 27-inch version of the same monitor. It has a clean iMac-like design, an impressive feature set, and should be even cheaper than the 32-inch version.

We don’t have availability or pricing details for the 27-inch version yet, but the 32-inch is available directly from Samsung and Amazon with the white version usually going for $699.99 (or less) and the color versions for $729.99 (or less) are sold. ).
