Step 2. Add the launcher in the registry. *

*Note: This is the usual way to start any program when Windows starts (using the registry), but only applies to programs that do not need administrative privileges to run. If you want to run at startup, a program that needs administrative privileges follow the instructions in this manual to get started.

1. Opening Registry editor. For this:

1. Press at the same time Win image + R buttons to open the run command window.
2. Stand up regedit and press Enter To open the registry editor.

2. Now, depending on your preference, navigate to the appropriate address of the registry given below:

A’s case. If you want to run the program only as the current user, go to this registry location:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Case B: If you want to run the program for every user on the computer, go to:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

3. Right-click on an empty space in the right pane and select new > String value.

Add the launcher in the registry

4. Name the new value with the name of the program you want to run. (for example, if you want to launch Microsoft Word at startup (as in this example), type “Word”.)

5. Now double click on the newly created value and in the Value data box, placing (CRL + V) is the path copied from the buffer. Click when done OK.
