Outlook Express Mail was a client application developed by Microsoft for sending and receiving Internet e-mail. Outlook Express Internet Explorer was bundled into version 6, but in recent Windows operating systems, Outlook Express is no longer available (and supported) by Microsoft, and was replaced first by Windows Mail and then by Windows Live Mail.
Today, many users upgrade their computers and operating systems to Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 and decide to use Microsoft Outlook (included in Microsoft Office) or Windows Live Mail instead of Outlook Express to manage their e-mail messages. That’s why I’m writing this guide to help users with email forwarding Outlook Express for Windows Live Mail or for MS Outlook 2007, 2010 or 2013.

Notes about this tutorial:
1. If you want to move Outlook Express email messages Windows Live Mail, then act Steps 1-3 in this manual.
2. If you want to move Outlook Express email messages Outlook 2013, 2010, or 2007then act all the steps in this manual.
Step 1. Copy (transfer) the Outlook Express store folder to a new computer.
Copy the Outlook Express store folder from a Windows XP computer (with Outlook Express installed) to a Windows 7 (or 8, 8.1) computer (for example, its Work table).
Note: By default, all Outlook Express mail is stored in a single folder named “”.Outlook Express” under your current (Your_username) profile at this location* :
- C:\Documents and Settings\
\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{ }\Microsoft\ - for example If your username is “Admin” then the Outlook Express Store folder is located by default at: “C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{D8F3C66E-965E-41AE-8A23-A58460ABAE00}\Microsoft\Outlook Express“
* Additional Information: If you want to verify the folder location of the Outlook Express store, read the instructions in these instructions.
Step 2: Install Windows Live Mail (Windows Essentials).
On a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 computer:
1. Download Windows Essentials.
2. Choose Running To start installing Windows Essentials.
3. selectSelect the programs you want to install“option.
4. Just leave the selected one Mail check the program box and click Installation.
5. Wait until the installation is complete and proceed to the next step.
Step 3. Import Outlook Express messages into Windows Live Mail
To transfer Outlook Express mail to Windows Live Mail (or Outlook):
1. Open Windows Live Mail (do not create an account).
2. Select from the main menu Import messages.
3. Yes Import Windows Live Mail dialog(s), select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and press The next one.
4. press Review.
5. Find and choose the Outlook Express save the folder you previously copied from the old computer (in step 1) and select OK.
6. press The next one.
7. Select on the next screen The next one if you want to import all Outlook Express folders/mail messages into Windows Live Mail or check Selected folders to import custom folders.
(Wait until the message import process is complete).
8. Once the import is complete, click on it Termination.
9. You can now access your email messages in Windows Live Mail ( Save folder > Imported folder > Local folders).
If you’re using Windows Live Mail as your email application, you’re done with the email transfer process, but if you’re using Outlook as your email app, go to the next, final step to transfer your data. Sending mail to Outlook.
Step 4. Transfer Windows Live mail to Outlook.
1. Select Windows Live Mail from the main menu Export email > Export messages.
2. In the Windows Live Mail Export dialog box, select Microsoft Exchange and press The next one.
3. Select in the info message OK.
4. select Outlook The name of the profile you want to export Windows Live messages to. (eg “Outlook“)
5. select All folders Select or export all emails Selected foldersto export specific folder(s) messages.
(Wait until the message export process is complete).
6. When the export is complete, click on it Termination.
7. Finally, close Windows Live Mail and open Outlook. Your messages should be transferred to Outlook.
