Method 1: Switch to a local account.

To remove your Microsoft account from Windows 10 (or Windows 11), you must sign in to Windows with a local account. So, if you’re signed into Windows with a Microsoft account and it’s the only MS account in Windows*, switch to the local account first and then remove the MS account.

*Note: If you’re already using a Local account in Windows, or if you want to delete a secondary Microsoft account and can’t, skip to the next method.

7. Finally, click Exit and Termination To sign out of Windows with your Microsoft account.

8. You will now be asked to sign in to the Local account you created. press Log in.

10. Choose Accountsand press Email and accounts

11. click on drop down menu next to your Microsoft account. This time, the Delete button will appear. Choose Turn off.

Method 2: Remove the Microsoft account from Work or School Sign In

In some cases, you can’t delete your Microsoft account in Windows 10/11 because the account is linked in the “Sign in to work or school” accounts. In this case, proceed to delete your MS account in the “Sign in to work or school” options.

Method 3. Stop other apps from automatically signing in to your Microsoft account.

1. Open your favorite web browser and sign in to your Microsoft account.

2. When your Microsoft account web page opens in your browser, select Devices from the tabs above.

3. You will be asked to confirm your identity by entering your password. Enter it and click Log in.

4. You will see that your device is connected to your Microsoft account. Choose Remove the device
