If you are having trouble downloading or installing apps from the Microsoft Store on Windows 11, this guide has various methods with step-by-step instructions to resolve them.

How to fix: Microsoft Store not working, unable to download or install Microsoft Store apps on Windows 11.

Important: If you’re unable to download or install Microsoft Store apps, make sure Windows is up to date and not connected to the Internet via a VPN connection before continuing below.

  1. Clear the Microsoft Store cache
  2. Repair or restore the Microsoft Store app.
  3. Reinstall the Microsoft Store using PowerShell.
  4. Fix Windows corruption errors using DISM and SFC tools.
  5. Create a new user account.

Method 1: Fix Microsoft Store issues by clearing the Microsoft Store cache.

If you are unable to download, update, or install Microsoft Store apps, try clearing the Microsoft Store cache first, as cached data may prevent the app from working properly.*

1. Open command prompt as administrator. For this:

1. Enter the following in the search field: cmd or command line
