While the Microsoft Store in Windows 11 has a great collection of apps and games, sometimes downloading and installing them can be frustrating or difficult.

If you are having trouble downloading or installing apps from the Microsoft Store on Windows 11, this guide has various methods with step-by-step instructions to resolve them.

How to fix: Microsoft Store not working, unable to download or install Microsoft Store apps on Windows 11.

Important: If you’re unable to download or install Microsoft Store apps, make sure Windows is up to date and not connected to the Internet via a VPN connection before continuing below.

  1. Clear the Microsoft Store cache
  2. Repair or restore the Microsoft Store app.
  3. Reinstall the Microsoft Store using PowerShell.
  4. Fix Windows corruption errors using DISM and SFC tools.
  5. Create a new user account.

Method 1: Fix Microsoft Store issues by clearing the Microsoft Store cache.

If you are unable to download, update, or install Microsoft Store apps, try clearing the Microsoft Store cache first, as cached data may prevent the app from working properly.*

*Note: The cached data of the MS Store helps existing games and applications to run faster, but when this data is corrupted, it can cause the Microsoft Store to stop working. So, the first way to solve problems with the Microsoft Store is to clear the cache of the Store app. For this:

Method 4. Fix Windows corruption errors using DISM and SFC tools.

1. Open command prompt as administrator. For this:

1. Enter the following in the search field: cmd or command line
2. right click on it command line (result) and select Run as administrator.

4. Once the SFC scan is complete, restart your computer.
5. Try installing apps from the Microsoft Store.

Method 5: Create a new user account.

If the problem persists, there are cases where the user profile may have been corrupted. In this case, proceed to create a new user profile and then verify that you have downloaded and installed the application from the Microsoft Store using the new profile.
