Method 1. Re-register or reinstall the Microsoft Store using PowerShell.

*Note: This method is used if the Microsoft Store installation packages are missing or not damaged. If the installation packages are damaged, follow the steps in Method 2 to resolve the issue.

1. It’s open Windows PowerShell such as Administrator. For this:

    1. click on Start menu and type in the search bar powershell
    2. Then click Run as administrator.

3. After executing the above command, restart your computer.
4. After restarting, check if the Microsoft Store is restored and launch it. If the Windows Store is still missing, go to the next step to reinstall all installed apps and the Microsoft Store in Windows.

5. It’s open PowerShell as administrator and issue this command to reinstall all Windows Store apps:

  • Get-AppXPackage -allusers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

6. Wait for the command to be executed, near Powershell and restart computer. The Microsoft Store should return to the computer. *

*Note: If for some reason the Powershell command fails for some reason or the Microsoft Store is still not there after a reboot, this means that the installer appx package required to install the MS Store is broken shows. In this case, follow the steps in method-2 below.

Reinstall the Windows Store

Method 2. Install Microsoft Store using installation packages.

The following steps will help you reinstall the Microsoft Store even if all or some of the packages (aka “Appx packages”) required to install it are damaged or missing.

Step 1. Download the necessary packages to install the Windows Store.

1. Visit store.rg-adguard.net to download the required appx installer packages to install the Microsoft Store.*

*Note: store.rg-adguard.net This is an online link generator to download Microsoft Store apps if you can’t access the Microsoft Store.

3. Scroll down to see all direct download links for all Microsoft Store installation packages.

4. Now go ahead and download all four (4) installation packages below:*

    1. Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.2.2_2.2.29512.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx
    2. Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.2.2_2.2.28604.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx
    3. Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_14.0.30704.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx
    4. Microsoft.WindowsStore_12107.1001.15.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe.appxbundle

*Notes:
1. Make sure the “.appx” extension is at the end of every bundle except “WindowsStore” which ends with “.appxbundle”.
2. If you want to reinstall the Microsoft Store on a 32-bit Windows system, download the x86 versions of the above packages.
3. If you do not download the file after clicking on it, then right click and select Save As.

Step 2. Install the Microsoft Store.

1. Once you have downloaded all the packages, go ahead and installation them one by one, in the order you downloaded them. (“*WindowsStore*.appxbundle” must be last.)*

*Notes:
1. If during installation of any package you see “App installation failed with error message: error 0x80073D02: Failed to install because the following applications need to be closed…“, ignore this package and install the next one. It is possible that this package is still active and being used by other applications on the computer.
2. If you get the message “WindowsStore.appxbundle” while installingA newer version of the Microsoft Store is already installed“, download and install the latest version of the “WindowsStore.appxbundle” package.

2. After installing all the packages, check if the Windows Store is running. If the Windows Store still doesn’t work or is missing, go to the next step below.

Step 3. Completely remove and reinstall the Windows Store using PowerShell.

1. Open PowerShell as administrator and issue the following command to remove the Microsoft Store (Windows Store):

  • Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Uninstall – AppxPackage

2. Now go ahead and install all downloaded Microsoft Store installation packagesusing this command:*

  • Add-AppxPackage -Path”x:\Path\filename.appx

*Notes:
1.
Change it x:\Path\filename.appx with the path and filename of the package you want to install.**
2. Don’t forget to install “WindowsStore .appxbundle” last.

** For example: To install the “Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework” package:

a. Go to the download location.
b. Right click in the downloaded package and select Copy as path.

c. In the PowerShell window, then Add-AppxPackage -Path”press CTRL + V to paste and write the copied path . Click the command as shown below Enter:

  • Add-AppxPackage -Path “C:\Users\username\Downloads\Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.2.2_2.2.29512.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx”

3. Once you have installed all four (4) packages you downloaded, the Microsoft Store should be back on your device.

*Note: If you get the error “Deploy failed with HRESULT: 0x80073D02 The package could not be installed because the resources it is modifying are currently in use” when installing any package, ignore it and proceed to install the next package. It is possible that this package is still active and is being used by other applications on the computer. (This error is fast when installing the package “VCLibs – often occurs).
